In honour of the university's 190th birthday today, U of T Magazine has put together a quiz to test your knowledge of all things U of T. It's the kind of stuff you really ought to know.
If you've come to campus in blue, white, or spirit gear, to share how they're celebrating using the hashtag, for a chance to win prizes.
The university was founded by charter in 1827 as King's College, the first institution of higher learning in the colony of Upper Canada. Initially controlled by the Church of England, it took on the present name in 1850 upon becoming a secular institution.
Today 190 years later, U of T has 12 distinct colleges, two satellite locations in Scarborough and Mississauga, more than 86,700 students and 14,000 faculty members, and it is considered a global leader in research and teaching.
